About: MUISTO STUDIO

Hi, I am Diana Mikalauska, the creator of Muisto Studio. I am a Latvian native, living in charming, small town called Ruovesi, Finland.

My art journey began when I was a little kid, around 6 years old, when my mom had enough of cleaning wallpapers from the markers haha.. I started going to art school and explored all kinds of materials I could work with. My favorite at the time was clay work and painting with markers, water colors. You can only imagine, how many ´artworks´ my parents received through the years.

Few years went past and I continued pursuing art while studying and working, I have continued drawing as a hobby, but after having our two children, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my childhood dream of becoming an artist for real this time.

My art style has always been a mix of everything, but one thing remained unchanged: I love details, even those that might not be seen at the first sight. The dots, hidden strokes in the background, shapes that after a while look like something.. so now I am using these skills and creating a custom pet portraits, which I truly love to do!

Actually my childhood dream job was to be a veterinarian and also working in the wildlife parks with animals.

I guess, in some way, this is a step closer to that childhood dream.

As for the future, I am planning to offer some of my original artworks, create a custom artworks, as well grow and make some other custom products, like tote bags, t shirts, mugs, stickers etc with your pawfriends.

As for the business name, I chose the Finnish word "muisto," which means "memory."

That, I think, perfectly describes these creations: a heartfelt keepsakes, that immortalize the memories and the special bond we have with our pets. I hope together we can make your furry friends memories come to life and save them for the years to come.
